Alhaurín de la Torre is on the south-west part of Malaga province and at the east end of the mijas Sierra and already is one of the nearest towns to the capital, Malaga.

The surrounding countryside is composed mainly by mountains and farmland. The village is linear with the focal point of the town hall in the centre.
